Just last month, Chantel Everett blasted Pedro Jimeno’s “lies” while liveblogging The Family Chantel.
It was clear to all of us that things were bad in that troubled marriage.
As it turns out, it was clear to Chantel and to Pedro, too.
Pedro filed to divorce Chantel … and included an accusation that she had essentially stolen money.
TMZ reports that Pedro Jimeno filed to divorce Chantel Everett in May.
The 90 Day Fiance couple, who landed their first-of-its kind family spinoff, had been married for 5 years.
Pedro Jimeno has filed for divorce from Chantel Everett … claiming she took a ton of money from their joint account just to spite him.
According to court documents, Pedro and Chantel had separated in April.
Pedro claimed in writing that the marriage was “irretrievably broken.”
The divorce is still a work in progress … and it’s shaping up to be downright ugly.
On the same day that Pedro filed for divorce, he also filed an emergency motion.
He accused Chantel of withdrawing $257,000 from a joint business account.
Pedro claimed that she did this just five days before the couple separated.
Per the filing, Pedro alleges that Chantel transferred the money to an account that she shares with her sister, Winter.
According to Pedro’s description of events, he did his best to resolve this financial issue.
He was unsuccessful, obviously.
Pedro is now asking the court to order Chantel to transfer the money to a shared account.
The idea is that the exes will divide the money in the divorce.
However, Pedro is not getting exactly what he wanted.
The judge turned down Pedro’s request for an emergency hearing.
However, the court will hold a hearing on the matter — just not right away.
Overall, Pedro is reportedly asking for an equitable division of the couples’ marital property.
Neither Chantel nor Pedro have publicly commented on their separation, let alone the divorce filing.
Part of that may be the infamous NDAs that prevent reality stars from sharing details of their lives.
But it is also a sensitive matter.
Perhaps they are leery of saying too much publicly, hoping on some level to reconcile one day.
However … considering the financial angle, and their months of separation, that sounds unlikely.
Reportedly, they have both taken out restraining orders against the other, which adds another layer of hostility to this.
