Make an axe from a stone and fiber Cut a tree to get wood (logs) Make a pickaxe from wood, stone and fiber Smash large rocks to get stones Build the small stone furnace (15 stones and 10 logs) Make an iron bar, either by harvesting metal ore in the mines (indicated by the pickaxe symbols on the map) or by melting down a metal lantern (these are all over the place) Build the crafting bench Build the large stone furnace Build the tools and weapons crafting bench Upgrade your axe and pickaxe Build the clothing crafting bench Make yarn on the crafting bench Make and equip the backpack (using the clothing crafting bench) Gather sulfur ore (go to the gas mask symbol on the map) and metal ore (from the mines) – take a boat, or swim (faster) – and melt these in the large stone furnace to make lots of iron and sulfur bars Make the grenade launcher and 40 mm cartridges for it on the tools and weapons crafting bench Climb the stairs to the castle (close to the spring just east of the land bridge between the smaller island and the larger island) Kill the mutant bear (about 20 direct hits with the grenade launcher) Ditch everything you can spare and harvest all of the gold ore you can carry off of the mutant bear — it will be more weight than you can carry, even if you are naked and unarmed.
